*sigh*
Well, my BP was still high *sigh*, so now I am on TWO meds.
I am asymptomatic, so it just boils down to genes from my dad. If TWO meds don't keep it down, we're delivering at 36 weeks, if the double meds work, then we'll truck on to 38 weeks.
I partly think that nerves were playing a role in today's readings because when I ran into walmart to drop off my script, I checked my BP there (that machine has been pretty consistent w/ doc office readings), and the top number had gone down 30'ish points and the bottom 10.
So I'm writing down my readings at home, to take to her. My mom is bringing me my dad's spare cuff on Sunday when Katie moves in (and showing me how to use it).
I am allowed to do light housework (like folding the laundry and giving Colton a bath) and run small errands, like for a gallon of milk (or pick up my prescription here in a bit)- no big window shopping trips or anything. B/C with high BP if you just lay idle for a prolonged period of time, you can become prone to blood clots, so I've got to keep my blood circulating. (plus good for my sanity!)
We're doing another U/S Wednesday (my next appointment) to keep an eye on the baby, make sure he's still growing, but he kept me up ALL night long wiggling, and was just fine Friday at the hospital, so its just a precaution.
I'm also supposed to see a regular doctor post-partum since I do have a genetic predisposition for blood pressure issues, just to have it monitored, especially right after delivery because if it comes down too fast, that could be as risky as it staying elevated.
**UPDATE: Since I wrote this, I went to walmart to pick up my meds, and measured my BP there, and each time (twice before walking around and once after walking around) it was in the 125/84 range!! I KNEW those meds were working! I guess I have some doctor's office anxiety! I am writing down every measurement I take to show to my doctor!
