31 weeks

Wednesday, I got sent home with high blood pressure.

It was 160/102 the first time, I don't know what it was after they made me lay down and the nurses went and got the doctor.

She said I had two choices- I could go to L&D and be tested to see if I was toxemic... or she could run labs and I could come back tomorrow. Obviously I didn't want to go to the hospital, they wouldn't let me leave with those BP numbers. So we drew some blood and I got sent home, told to come back the next day.

Thursday:

Okay, we started out with an ultrasound.. during the thing (because I read so dang much) I noticed on the monitor that he was measuring 28wks 2-3days... I am 31 weeks. That freaked me the heck out because besides danger to my body, with high blood pressure, my body can decide that sustaining the baby's life is not vital when trying to survive itself. When that starts happening, restricted fetal growth will be seen and usually results in immediate/soon delivery. Then the tech and the nurses kept saying "Dr. Khimani wants to speak to you"... yeah, not so good for the nerves.

My BP was 170/104 But after laying on my side for LITERALLY just 4.5 minutes, it dropped down to 138/88, which is pretty close to my average for the entire pregnancy.

Since it so dramatically and immediately dropped, doc said she wouldn't send me to L&D if I PROMISED to get help at home. Thankfully, Cody is working nights so he is home during the day to take over the housework and cooking. All I have to be responsible for is fixing Colton and I cereal and PB & J sandwiches. My sister will also be here in two weeks.

Colton and I will be spending time teaching him how to write (I recently found some of those lined tablets) and we'll color and watch movies. Not exactly the best parenting for a three year old... but at least I'll try to do educational things while camped out on the sofa bed. Plus, great one on one time during his last few weeks of being an only child.

Doctor said "ultrasound looks great, no worries"... I asked if there was protein in my urine (associated w/ pre-eclampsia), and she said "Thank God, no protein"... so its just high BP like it was with Colton. So I'm supposed to just become a couch potato and we go in every week. She didn't offer me any meds but I may ask next time if I can take a magnesium OTC vitamin supplement. I go back to the doctor once a week from now on.

I'll keep everyone posted as new news occurs. Thank you ALL for the thoughts and prayers, please, keep them coming! We need at least a few more weeks for Mr. Tyler to cook, 6 weeks would be awesome!

PS- we stopped at Hobby Lobby and I picked up some cross-stitch stuff, I can't sew but I can cross-stitch, I am gonna make Janel's baby and this baby some personalized burp rags. I'll also read some photography articles and tips, Cody bought me a new lens for our anniversary, so I'll play around with that as well.

Oh my! Please take it easy! I can't imagine having to be on bedrest with a 3 year old, but it sounds like you have a good plan of action for getting it done! I'll be thinking/praying for ya!
