Yesterday...

...Colton and I drove up to San Antonio for the day. We started out by grabbing a taco for the road. The comedy started there. Cody recharged our non-cold A/C the day before so we'd be nice and cool.

As Colton is settling into his carseat for the ride, he snuggles down, throws his hands behind his head, and lets out a big sigh and says, "its COOOLD in here.... this is SO nice!"

Anyway, driving up the highway, we had non-stop conversation (even though I tried getting him to "rock n roll" and be quiet for a few minutes) ranging from what grass fires are and why they smell like that... to questionning whether or not the drivers of the cars we saw on the side of the road after crashing had "boo-boos." Oh, however, Freddy Fender apparently doesn't sing "wasted days and wasted nights"... he sings all about "raisin days and raisin knives!"

Once we made it to town, we checked out Jessi's new bigger apartment and Colton ransacked Travis' hotwheels! Travis had the track pieces that Colton is missing, so he was rather impressed.

We then had lunch at Chik-Fil-A, Jessi and I thought it was a great idea since neither of our men like to eat there. Colton played on the playground after we ate, and came out of the room to tell me that while playing hide n seek with another boy, he got scared and screamed like *this*.... then let out the loudest shriek.. only in the full restauraunt area! haha

Then we went to the disney store, and I got some Wall-E sunglasses and flip flops (a 2-for special) as well as some more of those fancy goblet cups, Wall-E and Handy Manny (another 2-for deal).

Then we met up with my mom and sisters and Janel to to material shopping for Katie's prom dress and Sarah's wedding dress. THAT took awhile, but Colton didn't mind and even took a strangely positioned nap in a shopping cart. He was very well behaved, even though we were at JoAnn's Fabrics for nearly 2 1/2 hours. After that, we went back to North Star Mall because I hadn't spent any of the money I took with me, besides the Disney Store finds. Terrible, I know. My mom had never been to Build-A-Bear, so we went in there since Katie wanted to look for some stuff to spend her paycheck on in the mall. We made a monkey, who Grandma got the priviledge of naming and helping pick out clothes (I think she really liked it, she was dressing other peoples' animals in her mind). Grandma named him Cheetah after Tarzan's ape, but Colton thinks his name is Cheeto.

The drive home took awhile because when we stopped for gas and a potty break once back on I-37, Colton wanted to watch a tow truck hook up a car and take it away. He got a valuable piece of advice from the (young) Bexar County Deputy (that was impounding the towed vehicle) about making sure that your car had insurance, the plates matched, the registration sticker was the right one, and that the VIN number on the inspection sticker was the same one as the car....oh, and that you didn't have multiple county warrants. We told him that Colton's dad was an officer too, and he says "so your dad will agree with me".

Eventually after a 15 minute wait at Burger King, and a second potty stop 35 miles later, we made it home! I was BEAT. I've been drinking nearly a gallon of water all week and and had 3 sodas yesterday, plus 2 fast food meals, so I was not feeling well. My feet were aching and all nice and fat and puffy.

But it was fun. And now that you've read this LOOOOONG boring post... here are some pictures from yesterday (I only took my little camera, so this is what you get)

These are the leather chaps my dad, Colton's Pi-pa, hand cut and sewed for him!

Pretty neat, aren't they?!

Meet Cheeto! Relaxing at home!

Katie and I at North Star Mall (oh yeah, I got my hair cut off, shorter than I intended, but hey, I was hot that day!)

I went out Thursday in hopes of getting an Easter card photo of Colton, but with a sun that was too bright, not an ounce of cloud coverage, and one uninterested kid, I ended up with some funny photos. I don't even know where to start on sorting them out. He had some very funny (purposeful) expressions. I'm hoping to get those done by the end of this week, so be on the look out for some laughter material!
