Not much to write

So here is some Easter goodness for you. Our apartment complex (ugh, I hate living in apartments, but AM thankful for the opportunity we have) hosted a mini-social get-to-know-your-neighbors thing on Saturday. It included a mad dash for eggs (that were tossed out in the lawn) for the neighborhood children. My poor, polite Colton was shoved and lost in the madness, but *he* was the one who noticed the bright colored eggs high in the trees (yes, for the 6 and under age group)... little smartie. For the next two hours we enjoyed grilled (by the maintenence men) hot dogs, door prizes (I won a certificate for our counter tops to be resurfaced), and 3 moonwalk/jump things that I had to PEEL Colton out of to go home (after two hours).

Oh, about the jumpers, there was a younger boy, maybe 16-18 months old, that joined in on the fun (once the big kids moved to better ideas). I reminded Colton to not jump right beside him (so he wouldn't accidentally knock "the baby" over), and to watch out for him when he fell down. My Colton was so sweet with the little one, made sure to leave a nice, safe circumference to avoid stepping on little fingers and toes. Even when the two had a head-on crash, literally, smacking right into each other, Colton got up and asked the little one "are you okay?" I have no doubts he will be as caring for his new sibling (most of the time) as he was for this little one. Our challenge will be getting him to not test the durability of the baby furniture.
Funny off-topic rattle here. I found a fisher-price galloping fun jumperoo brand new for $30. I saw these in the store LAST summer and knew I wanted one. So we snatched it up (the seat was actually on inside out, so the red bandana print actually shows), figuring it would be baby's first Christmas present....anyway, Colton thought it was cute, but promptly proceeded to swing, twist, and bounce the seat in any possible formation it could go in. While he still falls under most baby gear weight limits at 28 lbs.... I don't think we'll be "testing" products with his help!!

Saturday, it was cold, a few drops of rain, cloudy, and windy (so the pics with the jacket on are from Saturday)... Sunday, found us sweating our buns off in 95 degrees. We had to wait for Cody to get off of work, but we went to a park and let Colton play while we hid eggs and had a mini egg hunt. We got done just as two large groups of different families piled out of their cars with tons of eggs!

So we left to give them their family time (its not a large park with little hiding space), grabbed something cold to drink, and came home to let Colton play with some cascarones (he liked putting them on his own head more).

Colton is quite the performer these days, and here are some of his funniest faces while him and I were waiting in the car for those previously mentioned cold drinks!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter. It sure was strange not being around hordes of family on a holiday, but we still have fun with each other. Colton liked the chocolate, and seemed to comprehend the real story of Easter and how Jesus was resurrected, well, as far as a three year old can understand. Next time Cody has Sunday mornings off, I think we'll finally approach finding ourselves a coastal Church home. We've only lived here 4 1/2 years. Maybe a church home will make it feel more like home instead of "where we live"....

So with that, and a glance at the clock.. 1:30 AM?!?! I might have forgotten that the world spins around this time of night. I will be tired tomorrow!! I think I am going to go to bed... man, I talk alot...well, at least you have something to do when you are bored! And now I am laughing at my original post title...but I think I'll leave it that way!

I guess having a 3 year old... you always have a lot to tell! Sounds like y'all had a great Easter! Can just imagine how much more fun you'll have next year with two kiddos! Colton will have some "egg hunting" competition!
