What a week

First of all, Colton's ear is all cleared up. Thankfully.

We headed up northwest to Knippa (my parents), Uvalde (Cody's parents), and Carrizo Springs (for Cody's 10 year high school reunion). We had a B-L-A-S-T! The football was LAME-O, poor old Carrizo was losing 35-0 when we left at 1/2 time. But then we went to Pizza Hut, in Carrizo, and I got to laugh with some of Cody's old buddies. Kenzie especially. I've always liked hanging out with Kenzie, and thought we'd get along well, those few times we've chit-chatted in Austin, and boy! this weekend we hit it off! I'm so happy. =) That, and her daughter Lilia likes me, she let me hold her and play with her, and her momma said that she doesn't let "just anyone" hold her. So I was beaming with pride.

Saturday we hung out with our parents, and then went to Carrizo for the reunion dinner and party. But beforehand, Colton was running around his Nana's (Cody's mom) living room, and tripped over his backpack and whacked his face on the coffee table. This is what it looked like right after it happened.

So, long time friends Jeff & Sara come into Uvalde and we all four head to Carrizo. We even fiddled around the Carrizo WalMart for a few minutes, as if we've never been to a WalMart before. I had a great time at the reunion, but, unfortunately, the one chance, okay second night in one weekend, we got to go out by ourselves, I don't have any photos of Cody and I. Who knows how long it'll be till we get to go out solo again! Shoot.

Anyway, I liked feeling adult, I had 1 or 2 drinks, as did Cody. However, someone who will remain nameless (not Cody), had more than a few and needed quite a bit help just sitting up in his car, but its all good. LOL.

Sunday Colton's eye began developing a not-so-lovely bubble of blood and a deep magenta color. Here is Sunday's injury.

Well, we get home, back in Portland, and Colton didn't sleep all night. I get home from class this afternoon and decide its not getting any better. Not worse, but not better. After poking and squeezing it a few times, the Doc decides we need an x-ray. So we head on over, and Colton does EXACTLY as he's told by the radiologist and we get four "pictures" of his head in about 10 minutes, not too bad for a two year old!

Thankfully, we have no fractures or chips in the bone, just a nasty, nasty, nasty bruise! He did, however, finally let me hold an ice pack on it for a few minutes tonight, and that made quite a difference by the time he went to bed tonight! Here is tonight's photo, right before bed, about 54 hours after the accident happened:

I wonder how much it will change before getting better?

The end of the semester is a mere 4 weeks away, well, three if you subtract the week of graduation because all my finals have to be done by Dec 9th! So, 2 weeks until Thanksgiving, 3 till finals, 4 till I'm D-O-N-E!!!

I still haven't finished my correspondence course yet, I have three more assignments due, then the final on Monday, the 17th! I was going to work on it tonight, but I am so exhausted from running around between doctors offices and a trip to HEB, I can barely keep my eyes open. I'd rather work on it when I have more energy to concentrate!

I *think* that's all for now.
