April 2011 update

Let's see, we last really left off in March, with an Easter post thrown in.  So consider this a drive-by, and I really, really hope to post more frequently again in a week or so.

In the beginning of April, Colton's soccer season came to an end.  The Cyclones played great, and all the little boys were so cute!  Colton really wants to play the long season in the fall, I'm not agreeing just yet.  Hopefully I will be teaching then and we might still be adjusting to a new schedule!  Anyway, here are some photos from the last game...

April quickly brought on warm South Texas "spring" temperatures, so we enjoyed a beach day mid-month.   We didn't spend much time in the water though, yucky seaweed! We will be checking out Rockport beach, possibly this weekend.  The Port A and Corpus Beaches have changed alot since we first got here.  The riptides are also very strong, so very scary for a momma!

The weekend before Easter was super busy.  Portland's Windfest is happening and Port A's sandfest is going on at the same time!  Between parades, carnival security, and highway traffic control this year, we hardly saw Daddy, but we were sure to attend the parade and carnival when he was working.  I guess that's the benefit of him working in a small town, we can squeeze in a hello hug at events like this.

We didn't actually get to see the sandcastles at Sandfest this year.  We didn't go last year, so I was unaware of the changes made.  Now all the sculptures are in a fenced in area you have to purchase tickets for.  The tickets were inexpensive, and there was no working ATM in sight for this non-cash carrier.  If there weren't such large crowds, I would have gone back into town to pull cash out, but that was another 2 mile walk in the sand back to the car with the kids and our stuff.  So we milled around the vendors for awhile and ate Whataburger while we sat in the car in line back across the ferry.

I still don't think I ever got around to posting Christmas 2010... boy, I've been busy!  May is up next!
