Colton's police car got stolen right off our porch last night. They took that, and only that. We looked for it all day. It most likely got put in the back of a pick up truck and left the apartment complex, by the questionable neighbors behind us, or one of their many questionable looking visitors.
My poor boy is so heart broken. When we saw it gone, at 8:30 this morning, we immediately checked the back porches of surrounding apartments. I turned around to see him following me, crying his little heart out. I scooped him up and he just sobbed. I started crying right along with him. He loved that thing. We had stickers made, and it looked just like Daddy's. He was so proud to be just like his Daddy. Cody and he butt heads alot, but Daddy is his hero.
We called the PD to make a report, then Cody went off to do another search for it. Colton had absolutely no hesitation marching across the field right behind his dad, on a mission.
We haven't found it, and most likely won't. We'll keep looking for it around the complex, and around town, for a couple weeks. But we'll get him another. This apartment is tiny, but it will be kept inside or something.
We tried keeping him busy, took him to town to get plates and napkins for his birthday. He was excited about that for a little while, but several times during the day, he would just break down and cry. I wish I could take the hurt away. He cried when he was falling asleep.
Who does that? Who steals from a child? Take the tools out of the shed (nothing else was touched by the way). Take the patio furniture, I don't care. But don't make my four year old cry. That's not right.
The thing is, it DOES have those stickers on it, so it would be easy to ID. But Cody thinks its not even in Portland- just comes with his job I guess, its how these things go.
So that was our day in a nutshell.

That's terrible! How could someone have the ability to do such a horrible thing? Poor Colton.
