Christmas 2009

I've been wanting to make our Christmas post for quite sometime, but we have had one HECK of a whirlwind week since then. My dad was in the hospital in San Antonio for a few days, and then Tyler had a trip to the ER (our first as parents by the way) New Year's Eve night. Both are A-OK and on the mend now... but needless to say.. things like blogging was set aside. But now we're back on track!

We started our Christmas'ing in Uvalde and Knippa with our families. It was good to see everyone. The kids got spoiled and Colton really had a blast playing with Lexi, he's old enough now to keep up with her. Tyler got held by his grandparents those couple of days, and they stole everyone's share of kisses. We ate ourselves silly- enchiladas, hot sandwiches, pizza, chips & dip, breakfast, tamales...

We TRIED to do a photoshoot for Lindsey (Cody's sis) and Lexi, but very cold windy weather... and Colton falling into the the Leona River at the park.... put the brakes on that! For those of you who KNOW the park... you can now say EWWWWWWWWWW. We plan to meet sometime in the spring.

Here is Tyler sitting on my mom's lap, lookin cute with a bow on his head, watching all the Christmas fun.

Colton, Lexi, and Tyler at Nana's house
We were home Christmas Eve just in time to tuck ourselves into bed before Santa made his Portland pit stop.
Colton was clearly very excited about what Santa brought! For some reason, I didn't take a before picture this year. But he got a powerwheels police car and a dragon force castle. Tyler got a cool high chair and a horse jumperoo!
This is Christmas morning while Cody was still at work, Colton took the car out for its first spin....Tyler went back to sleep. haha
Santa also left a watch in Colton's stocking, which I am very suprised to say, he is very proud of. I'm trying to teach him how to read the time... but its not working. I get alot of "its 50 o thirty clock".... soon he will get it, I bet
While waiting for Daddy to get off of work, the boys played with some of their toys from our family in Uvalde/Knippa. Tyler sure was interested in what big brother was doing.
Also, while waiting for Daddy, Tyler slept... again.
Finally Daddy came home- thanks to his Sgt who told him around 12:30 to head on home (instead of 2pm) and we got to open some more presents.
Now this gift, was a project for me. I saw the idea on a friend's blog (Kristi), and decided to do our boyish creation of it. I was so proud of my work, and couldn't wait to give it to Cody. Even though I need to reprint the pictures (nit-picking on my part), Cody loved it, even was moved to tears (shhhh I didn't tell you that!)
Tyler is ALWAYS watching his big brother
A prized possesion- these cars are from the cartoon "Hot Wheels Battle Force 5" that Colton is a HUGE fan of.
After presents, the big guys took the car out for a spin in the back yard while I started our ham and all the fixins. We enjoyed a yummy filling Christmas dinner, watched "Up" on DVD then retired for the night. Tyler all snug in his adorable Joe Boxer jammies from a friend.
Oh, and one more for the road.... check out these silly kids. I'm not so sure we should claim blood relativeness.... but we'll be sure to show this to their future spouses!!
