Summer rewind, part 4!

Our last full day in New Mexico was spent at my friend's wedding.  She lives kind of close to my parents but got married about 10 miles from their house at her sister's ranch!  She asked me way back in April if I'd photograph her wedding, so this was the reason for the extended vacation!

I'd like to share just a few photos with you! She loves the pictures and I'm glad I could deliver!

As I get to this part, I realize that I have very few pictures of my kids with their grandparents- I better make mental note and start correcting that problem!  Sunday morning, we said our goodbyes, tearfully, and headed back to Midland to stay with my sister and her husband.  We had a great evening relaxing around their house and enjoying some cooling rain and cool, dry morning temperatures- we don't even get cool mornings in Corpus!

We left Midland about 11am and headed across Central Texas to Round Rock to meet up with Cody's sister so I could return her camera lenses I borrowed.  Oh sure, we could have mailed them back, but it was a nice road trip across a part of Texas I'd never really seen before.  It was a LONG drive, and hot sometimes because the A/C in the expedition kept clogging up, and it turned into a longer drive because we missed a turn somewhere and wound up in south central Austin by the lake instead of North Austin, in Round Rock.  More on that later.

We stopped in Brady, for a photo op and to stretch our legs!

I don't let the boys play many video games.  We have a Wii but time on it has to be earned, but these handheld leapsters are amazing! Tyler really can't beat the games, but there are coloring "apps" for his older version, and he practices his colors and fine motor skills.  They are very handy for carrides too!

They each took some decent naps to catch up from all the site-seeing!

Not only did we arrive in Austin about 30-40 miles south of where we wanted to be, but it was 5pmon the dot and we had to go NORTH to Round Rock, dead straight into this!!!

We ate dinner with Lindsey, waited out the storm for about an hour at the outlet mall.. then followed the storm all the way down 35, through San Antonio, and about 1/2 way to Corpus on 37!  We got home about 11pm and fell into a deep deep sleep in our own comfy beds!!
