Gettin' there...

I'm SLOWLY getting better! My incision re-opened, two weeks ago, and I've had three doctor's visits since then to check on it. I have a good antibiotic and just have to keep the wound nice and clean. The reason for the re-0pening can be blamed on Mother Nature, all that bruising I had? Well, my body couldn't reabsorb it, so all the junk had to drain somewhere! Anyway, details aside, the draining has seemed to stop finally. I haven't had a "big" bleeder in 24 hours, and we even went out and about in Corpus today! =)

I go back to my OB Tuesday afternoon to check on this, so hopefully she'll say to quit "packing" it so we can let it close!

Besides sleep deprivation from a newborn, I'm starting to feel pretty good. I haven't had a pain pill in 3 days! My BP is finally starting to come down, but my OB wants me to see a regular doc just to keep an eye on it, so I guess I'll get over there sometime this week. I'm gaining my appetite back, and finally starting to feel a bond with Tyler. I was feeling pretty guilty earlier because I felt like I had an instantaneous bond with Colton, but with Tyler, I was just on survive-le (how the heck to spell that??) mode, I think. I was in such pain and my body was taking on SO much... that I was just doing what I had to do to keep both of us going. Of course I love him and would do ANYTHING for him, but all I wanted to do was sleep. Darn society and their perfect expectations for women! Luckily I was a soci/psych major and knew my feelings and reactions were completely normal! haha

But now, I find myself playing dress up with my new little dolly, and wanting to hold him and caress him more. Besides, Colton does more than EVERYONE's fair share of chatting, touching, kissing, and hounding the baby, so he wasn't going without.

Tyler is also making progress. He can now wear newborn sized clothes, and still have visible appendages, instead of losing them in the sleepers. I'll update more specific details later this week, when I take his ONE MONTH pictures! I'll also start a compare/contrast pictures of Colton and Tyler.

Cody goes back to work Saturday. I think I'll "celebrate" my 1-on-2'ness by heading out to get new window stickers for Halloween and dragging out the Halloween decor. I usually wait until the 1st of the month, but what's an extra 2-3 days? I got the pattern for Colton's costume today too. hmm, He needs a new candy bucket this year too...

So... with that I am gonna be lazy, enjoy the quiet house, and watch the news... they say we're getting a cold front Tuesday night! WOW- an early fall?? Seems like we've only been getting our cold fronts in late October! I hope we have a cold wet winter, last one was so warm and dry. Then again cold and wet makes babies sick. We'll see...

I really hope you're back to normal soon! (Or as normal as you can be with a newborn!) I'm also glad to see you're having spelling issues... I was always a great speller and since giving birth, I've lost my ability!
