Day 2

Well, little man just needed his momma to tell him what to do.

He started doing GREAT with his bottles after Cody and I went to feed him last night. His daytime nurse switched him to a lactos free formula, and he started keeping it down, and suckin' them down! I got to see him be fed at 12, and he drank that one, and I got to FEED him his 3pm one, and he drank it like a champ. I went and checked on him at 6 and he had just wrapped up that bottle.

He has to be taking full feeds before he can go home, which is 46mL. He's fixing to have a 39mL one here in about 30mins, I'm gonna head down there in just a bit. Its a different nurse, so hopefully I'll still get to do it. I'm hoping to do his 9pm and midnight bottle then sleep till my doc comes around 7:30.

He's supposed to move up 3mL every 6 hours, so if he does both 39mL's great, he'll move up to 42 at 3am & 6am, and reach 45mL at 9am tomorrow.

I'm HOPING that he is at that stage when I wake up tomorrow. I DOUBT the doctor's will let him go home tomorrow morning with me, but I can always hope and pray.

We have not had a pleasureable experience in this hospital, either both. Colton's was annoying, this time is AWFUL. It took until 3pm this afternoon for me to hear from a pedi/neonatologist on their plans, hopes, game plan, and even what problem was, for Tyler. But now he's waking up to be fed on his own! (instead of being forced to eat)

The nurses yesterday and last night would just tell us "he's not eating" and we'd sit there asking why and we'd get "he's just not"... and when we'd ask what he needed to do they'd say "wait until doctor comes"

We were desperate and sad and .... just... it hasn't been fun! His daytime nurse actually explained things to me today as far as his behavior and that he wasn't eating full bottles and just let me hang out and then feed him.

As of last night he had only lost 3oz, so I think that's pretty good

As for me, I get discharged in the morning, my doc said she would have let me go today, but my c-section didn't end until 5pm Tuesday, so she wanted me to have a full 48 hours. I feel pretty good now. There is a pain on my left side, but the muscle was bruised since it was stapled and not even cut open, and that's the side baby Tyler came out of. But I'm keeping my pain meds coming every 6 hours, and I only have about 45 minutes of "OH THAT HURTS" around pain med time, and its concentrated in that one spot. But my incision looks good, not infected or anything. The more I move around the more the pain is lessening, stretching out the muscles I guess.

Colton has been SOOO good this week. Its hard to go into the NICU without Cody cause Colton can't go in there, but w're making it work. Colton wants to see his brother so bad, so I take pics everytime, and I told him today that Tyler farted on me and he thought it was hilarious. BOYS.

But even if Tyler can't go home tomorrow, I have one more dinner with Colton tomorrow night, which he deserves. He looked so sad Tuesday when they left me, and he just stood at my bedside post-Op, holding my hand. He was so excited to see me up and walking around this afternoon, wearing real clothes!

Anyway, that's the update. Sorry so long! I'm hoping for tomorrow and thinking no later than Saturday that I'll have my little man home.
