With school looming just under two weeks away, the countdown to end of the summer is on! :(
This saddens my heart. However, I can say we had a VERY fun summer! We saw all of the movies on our bucket list. I'll finish up the rest of the summer, but here I'll talk about the movies.
EPIC
Before school was officially out, we went and saw Epic. *yawn* someone stole Fern Gully and changed it a bit. It was long, and not exciting at all.
MONSTERS UNIVERSITY
Perhaps our most anticipated, this was Tyler's favorite. I still like the original better, it's hard to go back and do a prequel to characters you know and love! However, Disney Pixar has yet to disappoint me, so it gets two thumbs up! It was mom's top pick.
DESPICABLE ME 2
One of this mom's favorites too. Still love Gru and the girls, but the minions made this sequel. Will buy for sure!
TURBO
Cute, but can't say I LOVED it. Colton, who is all about speed, did love it!
HEAT
Yeah an adult movie! Cody & I saw this for our anniversary and LOVED it. It's like Det. Hart (hello, Miss Congeniality, duh!) came back a little more mature, and funnier. We laughed the WHOLE movie!
PLANES
Colton was the biggest die hard Lightning McQueen fan in the world, up until about a year ago when the Ninja Turtles came into his grade-school aged life. We're some kind of Pixar junkies, and while this is NOT Pixar, it does come from the world of cars and we've been waiting for it for YEARS- literally! About 4 release formats and dates changes, this movie did not let us down. Tyler loved it as much as Colton loved Lightning all those years. I felt a little emotional at the end when Tyler threw his arms up in joy and excitement. Will be adding to our Cars collection, for sure!
(and with an upcoming bday, it might my bday shopping a little easier for this stumped mom when all she's told is "Monsters Inc, I want Monsters Inc for my birthday when I turn 4"- a die cast plane or two may sweeten the pot on the Monsters Inc undies, sunglasses, and nightlight I've found. lol)
There's our summer review, with the exception of Epic, we were not disappointed!!!!
PS- Cody & Colton saw Man of Steel and loved it. I did not see it, so I can't review it!
