Lazy June
Gearing up for some plans later in the summer, we kept June fairly low key. I babysat some kids a few extra days, so we spent our mornings at the public library, playing at home, and splashing in the water, one way or another. When all the extra littles went home, we went to the beach or rode bikes outside.
One particular beach afternoon, we found the Gulf to be looking quite tropical. It sure was hard to leave when it was time to go home!
Quite a few evenings were spent playing outside after we went for a run (yes, I've gotten back into running and feel great- just need to be a little more consistent with it!). Tyler really likes Fudgecicles for dessert!
One evening when the boys were riding their bikes, we noticed a crop duster zooming around beyond the trees behind our apartment complex, so we jumped in the car and followed him around the backroads for about an hour, watching him zoom around the power lines and windmills until dark. The boys were very impressed and we had our own front row seats to his airshow!
We also throughly enjoyed a rainy, drizzly week! The boys passed some time by wrestling, of course! Yes, we are at THAT brotherly stage! We also had some patio guests. We don't know where they came from, or where they suddenly went, but a mama kitty and her two kittens camped out for a few weeks on our patio... then they were gone. The boys were sad to see them leave, but we can't keep them here in the apartment complex.. so maybe it's for the best!
We also used our aquarium membership and enjoyed the splash park area a few times! I'm waiting till it is officially August to renew my membership again, that way it lasts us the entire summer, instead of expiring in June! We were busy the entire month of July, so we didn't miss it these past few weeks!
Stay tuned for more summer back tracking- I've written out blog posts on a sheet of computer paper, to make sure I don't forget anything! We've had a great summer and I'm refusing to believe it's already almost over!
