With the cool and WET weather, we had been trapped indoors the last few days, so after school on Monday, we went straight to the aquarium!
It was very quiet, just a few older couples and another mom with two boys (same age space as my two, just a year younger). We wandered around our favorite tanks, talked to the usually grumpy parrot, watched the boa slither around (compared to his usual coiled up boring self), and spent about 30 minutes in the underwater dolphin viewing room. That other mom and boys were in there too, so all four of them ran around like crazy people and we two moms laughed at the joys of having boys.
Even though our kids were being chaotic, there is something magical about sitting in that blue, cool, calm room and watching the creatures swim around. They paid us a visit or two and swam with the boys along the window. It's just so peaceful! Even with rambunctious 5, 4, 2, and 1 year old boys running amuck!
