I can't believe it's that time of year again!
I have 3 out of 3 boys asleep, and a dog too. The mice situation seems to have gotten under control, so all is peaceful this WARM Sunday afternoon.
I logged into a mommy forum I am a long-time member of and found a post discussing already released Black Friday ads! YIKES! I hadn't even taken a peek yet! So I perused the ads, thanks to http://www.bfads.net/!
I've made a substantial list, and now I go through and narrow it down to MUST-GETS, according to store times, and gauge if the crowd/distance is really worth it for one or two items.
This year, many stores start their sales at 10pm Thanksgiving night. I don't go for the big electronic-door buster things, so it might be a pretty doable experience, with the other sales starting the night before the big electronic stuff. I might be able to find a good deal before and/or after the big door buster sales.
Again, the list needs to be narrowed down and prioritized, but here are the things that caught my budgetting eye this afternoon.
Kmart, yep! we have one here in Portland!: Lego BOGO 50% off, Cars 2 diecast cars BOGO free, Leapfrog Toys $15 (I don't know which ones though), Joe Boxer PJ's $5, kids' slippers 50% off, Green Lantern DVD $10, Big Action RC Construction set $30 (this is a MUST-GET for Tyler, and this price is 50%... we wanted to get it, but at $60, it's kinda pricey, but this is totally do-able!), Bounce Back Racer $25 (this is also a must-get for Tyler, but I think I found a cheaper price!)
Tractor Supply- you know you're from Texas when.... :Assorted playsets 20% off (Colton was eyeballing a few rodeo sets yesterday morning when we went), 2 pack of John Deere tractors $20 (Pretty good considering they're often $20 each), big cattle trucks $12.99 (reg. $20)
Toys R Us (seems like the only store I'll be at for 5am doorbusters, for like ONE thing!): leapster software 40% off, Home Depot 45pc set $10, Animal Planet buckets BOGO $1, Etch a Sketch $6 (MUST-GET for Colton), Bounce back Racer $15 (SEE HOW CHEAP THAT IS!!! this is a 5am door buster item!)
Target- this list seems pretty slim, will probably cruise around after all the door buster sales to see what's left: Cars 2 Shake n go cars $10 each, 12 pc frame set $12 (probably a shopping treat/gift to myself!), piggy banks $7 (would LOVE to get my hands on two new ones for the boys), PJ's for $10 and $7, certain Wii games for $10
Walmart: Duplo 200pc set $30, 15pc frame set $13, kids' fleece pj's $4.50 (usually stock up on winter pj's for the boys at this time!), boys' boxer briefs $4 (yes, I am that mom who puts undies in your stocking!), Cars 2 Blu Ray $17, Cars 2 DVD $13 (Colton wants to get my dad a copy for Christmas)
Then after I come home after the sun comes up, we usually have doughnuts for breakfast and then go back and scrounge around in the mid mornings at JC Penney's, Kohls, and Academy. Thanks to my new-found love peppermint-mocha from Starbucks, I might not be a zombie by 1pm!
Cody has to work security at walmart 8pm Thursday- 6am Friday. I think my sister is going to spend the night, and possibly the neighbor's kids too. My sister will babysit while we do some overnight shopping!
I can't believe it's 2 weeks away!
What's YOUR Black Friday Strategy?

HoLy! You are a die-hard! It exhausted me just to read this ;) I remember (way back in the day) when my mom, sisters, and I would head out the day after Thanksgiving (never too early though) to catch some great deals, but I don't think I've shopped within a few days before or after Thanksgiving since I've had kids! I would NEVER recover from it if I did! Sounds like lots of fun though!! (I'm all about the online deals! Super lazy! Haha!)
